The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Julie's Creekside Vineyard is
lush, powerful and voluptuous. Succulent dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and
licorice are all pushed forward, helped by soft contours and silky tannins that
really allow the wine to be expressive. Even with all of its intensity, the
2016 retains terrific freshness and detail, always the biggest challenge with
this warm site in Calistoga. Red-toned fruit, tobacco, blood orange and earthy
notes add the closing shades of nuance.
